PAEDIATRIC ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT LEVEL 1

This Paediatric Advanced Life Support Level 1 course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to manage a paediatric patient in the immediate period of crisis. It includes the recognition, assessment and management of the deteriorating child. Participants are provided with a comprehensive course workbook prior to the cruise to prepare for the face-to-face and practical components. This includes those skills for managing a paediatric patient in cardiac arrest and other medical emergencies in a clinical setting. The course is facilitated by accredited instructors from Emergency Medical Training Australasia.

This PALS-1 Course Program Includes:

  • Recognition and initial management of the seriously ill child
  • Airway management skills
  • Basic Life Support and CPR
  • Emergency circulatory access, fluid administration and medications
  • Defibrillation skills (Manual and/or AED modes)
  • Cardiac arrest management using the ARC ALS algorithm
  • Practical workshops and simulations
  • Comprehensive course workbook
  • Digital certificate upon satisfactory completion, valid for 4 years
