Required by many health care professionals, this ALS-1 certification is suitable for clinicians working in hospitals, general practice, community health and ward-based facilities. Departing Sydney on 26 October 2019, this 9-night cruise will visit four beautiful South Pacific islands. ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT LEVEL 1 (ADULT)

This Australian Resuscitation Council Advanced Life Support course Level 1 (Adult) will provide you with the skills and knowledge to manage a patient in the immediate period of crisis. It includes the recognition, assessment and management of the deteriorating patient. Participants are provided with a comprehensive ARC course workbook prior to the cruise to prepare for the face-to-face and practical components. This includes those skills for managing a cardiac arrest and other medical emergencies in a clinical setting. The course is facilitated by registered instructors from Emergency Medical Training Australasia – an authorised ARC course centre.

This ALS-1 (Adult) Course Program Includes:

  • Practical workshops and simulations
  • Cardiac arrest management
  • Recognition, assessment and management of the critically ill patient using a structured ABCDE approach
  • Airway management skills
  • Basic Life Support and CPR
  • Defibrillation skills (Manual and/or AED modes)
  • The most current ARC guidelines, including the COACHED method
  • Comprehensive course workbook
  • An ARC certificate, issued upon satisfactory completion and valid for 4 years
