Join us on board Royal Caribbean International Explorer of the Seas for a 7-night cruise while participating in an Australian Resuscitation Council Advanced Life Support Level 1 course. The course was developed for health care professionals in general practice, community health and ward-based facilities. This unique educational 7-night cruise departs Sydney on Sunday 8th April 2018 and visits colourful Noumea and idyllic Lifou. You can also bring your family and friends – you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the ports and experience the onboard entertainment and activities.

Lifou

This Australian Resuscitation Council Advanced Life Support Level 1 course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to manage a patient in the immediate period of crisis. It includes the recognition, assessment and management of the deteriorating patient. This includes those skills for managing a cardiac arrest and other medical emergencies in a clinical setting. The course is facilitated by registered instructors from Emergency Medical Training Australasia – an authorised Australian Resuscitation Council course centre.

Course program includes:

  • Recognition, assessment and management of the critically ill patient
  • Basic Life Support and CPR skills
  • Defibrillation skills (Manual and/or AED modes)
  • Practical workshops and simulations
  • Airway management skills
  • Cardiac arrest management using the ARC ALS algorithm
  • The most current ARC guidelines

Shane Lenson

Shane has instructed Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Advanced Life Support courses for the past eight years. He has also held a range of clinical, educational and leadership roles within the emergency care environment. Additionally, Shane was appointed as the ACT representative on the Australian Resuscitation Council in 2015.

Andy

Andy Francey

Andy has a wealth of experience in emergency services, having worked in the industry for over 25 years.  This includes working as an Intensive Care Paramedic and also as a fire fighter in the United Kingdom. Andy has instructor qualifications in Advanced Life Support through the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and instructor qualifications in Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support through NAEMT.
